Canada Post is issuing a set of stamps to show endangered species of Canada on October 1.
The Taylor’s Checkerspot butterfly is one of the selected species.
The only known population in Canada is established on Denman Island. It was first discovered here on DCA’s Settlement Lands and has subsequently been found on our Central Park and the Railway Grade Marsh covenant area. It is also found on some private land on Denman.
