The Komas Bluff along the north-east coast of Denman provides some of the most spectacular scenery and unspoiled coastline on Denman. Comprised mostly of sands washed out from glaciers in the most recent ice age, the bluff harbours special ecosystems and species not found elsewhere on the island. The bluff is also subject to erosion by wind, rain and ocean. Human activity on the bluff is dangerous and can enhance erosion.
This beach walk will highlight some of the bluff’s special features and explain why it is important to protect this precious landscape. Meet at the Morning Beach Park entrance on The Point Rd at 1 pm. We should be back around 3 pm.
