Despite the threat of rain 40 people turned out on Saturday morning 12 November to hear Andy MacKinnon describe the fascinating life histories of forest fungi.
After the walk, folks gathered at the Denman Hall as Andy identified over 80 species of fungi from Denman, collected as part of this one time scientific inventory.
Please Note: Picking and removal of any plants, fungi (or anything else) from any of Denman’s fantastic Nature Reserves is not permitted. All the species, busy living in all these protected habitats, may be enjoyed by all. The work by DCA to remove invasive species e.g. Holly and English ivy, as sensitively as possible, is aimed at restoring these important habitats.
Take only photos, leave only footprints.
Denman Conservancy is grateful for the support of Denman Island General Store and to Helen Wilson for billeting Andy.
