Broom, Forever Broom!

Truly, Broom is the major invasive problem I have on my property.

Pulled about 20, mostly with the PullerBear tool.

This meadow, well used by deer, was an ‘Old Growth Broom Forest’ 10 years ago and despite no subsequent reseeding still requires a major effort each year to keep it free of blooming broom. The criss-cross of deer trails is one source of disturbance that keeps triggering broom germination.

Totals for the month:

Daphne Laurel 294

Broom 205

Hawthorn 41

Ivy 21

Holly 3
