These Camas plants were grown from seed and this is their first flowering! The oaks are Denman stock, grown from acorns planted about 11 years ago. For scale: the wire is 4 foot high stucco mesh.
The little red spot between the camas, back against the oaks is the bud of a Red columbine. Its late – probably this location is a bit too dry for it – and there is competition!
