Denman Conservancy Association hosts a few key annual and biennial events, which are very important for our fundraising and also a lot of fun!
We always need volunteers to help with events, and are also keen on hearing new ideas for events that may celebrate conservation on Denman Island.
Home and Garden Tour:
Denman Conservancy’s longest-running event and principal fundraiser, the biennial Home and Garden Tour on Denman Island is not to be missed! Every alternate year, generous islanders open their homes and gardens (and hearts) to DCA and our supporters for a two-day extravaganza of Denman Island Delights!
Tickets generally go on sale in the early months of each tour year.

24 HR BIRDATHON
Every alternate year, birders of all stripes and feathers come together to celebrate birds in a friendly competition of species-counting over a 24 hour period, usually near the end of May.
Birdathon Birders collect donation pledges and then on the Big Day they go out and identify as many bird species as they can in 24 hours.

BOOK SALE
The Annual Book sale is a major fundraiser for Denman Conservancy, and runs each year in August and September at the Old School, where thousands of books are displayed each year and sold by donation. Feel free to come and peruse for 5 minutes or 5 hours! Treasures await!
